This is a fun and interactive program where campers work in small groups to build and write the code for some really fun and cool LEGO (TM) robots. This camp emphasizes important skill such as attention to detail, following instructions, team work and problem solving.

Ages 8+

Campers will be introduced to the exciting world of model design and 3D printing! Using Tinkercad (R), campers will code their custom model and watch it being printed by the 3D printer. Campers take their printed design home. Along the way campers learn coding principles and 3D modeling and printing.
Ages 8+

Using fun and familiar themes such as Minecraft, Star Wars, Angry Birds and Frozen, kids use intuitive block programming to learn sequencing, debugging, algorithms, binary numbers, nested loops and conditionals. Digital Citizenship: online bullying, sharing online and internet safety.
Ages 6+

Using fun and familiar themes such as Minecraft and Star Wars, kids learn essential coding skills at an accelerated rate and then move on to a design project which combines coding, fun and creativity. Digital Citizenship: sharing online, crowd sourcing and internet safety.|
Ages 7+

Using Javascript or Python (camper's choice), campers will develop their own game and share it with friends and family! Campers learn learn syntax, loops, arguments, strings, variables, conditionals, functions and game AI. Digital Citizenship: sharing online, crowd sourcing, internet safety.
Ages 8+

Feel like a true computer scientist coding with a language that is at the core of computer science. This track is appropriate for students who have prior coding experience. Kids will program their own game while learning C++ syntax and core programming concepts.

What Happens at Camp?

Coding at Code Cobras

Coding

Coders have 3 coding sessions per day, in which they will learn the fundamentals of computer science. The coding sessions are self-paced supported learning, through a series of mini-coding challenges in a fun, interactive game development environment.

Mechanical Computers

This year, code a mechanical computer that can add, subtract and do much more. See with your own eyes how arithmetic can be done with beads and levers!

Unplugged Activities/Digital Citizenship

These are coding related activities, but we are off the devices. Through discussions, interactive activities and presentations, we will learn about binary code, if-else statements and important concepts such as online safety, cyberbullying and online privacy.

Variety Stations

Our camp will engage kids in a variety of activities. Kids can enjoy Lego, board games, giant Jenga, friendship bracelets, puzzles and books!

Physical Activities

How does dodgeball, Zumba and Taekwondo sound, for starters?

Crafts

Make a binary bracelet and build a simple kite and take it home, or make your best friend a friendship bracelet!

OutDOORS

We have lunch and fun outside, using a modern playground, basketball courts and a soccer field!
